As an accredited IPAF Centre, we provide MEWP training courses throughout Wales and the North West, leading to the PAL Card on completion. We offer classroom and eLearning courses covering mobile elevating work platforms including boom, scissor, 1b, 3a and 3b categories of machines. We are the only accredited IPAF centre in North Wales.
Training in the use of work equipment is required by most health and safety legislation and work at height regulations. The IPAF safety training programme for platform operators conforms to ISO 18878:2004 Mobile elevating work platforms – Operator (driver) training.
Successful trainees receive a PAL Card (Powered Access Licence), a safety guide, a log book and a certificate.

3A MOBILE VERTICAL SCISSOR (SCISSOR LIFT) This 1 day IPAF training course enables operators to prepare and safely use Scissor Lifts and Mobile Vertical Personnel Platforms, providing theory and practical training. The course will teaches operators to manoeuvre, drive and position Scissor Lifts and Mobile Vertical Personnel Platforms safely and proficiently.

3B MOBILE BOOM LIFT (CHERRY PICKER) A 1 day IPAF training course enabling the operator to prepare and safely use Mobile Boom Lifts. It requires and provides both theory and practical training. The course will allow the operator to manoeuvre, drive and position Cherry Pickers safely and proficiently.

1A STATIC VERTICAL SCISSOR This 1 day IPAF training course enables the operator to prepare and safely use Static 1a Vertical Personnel Platforms, covering operator theory and practical training.

1B STATIC BOOMS (VEHICLE MOUNTED PLATFORMS) A 1 day course enabling operators to prepare and safely use Static 1b Self-propelled Booms, commonly used across the utility sector. The course provides theory and practical training.

3A & 3B SCISSOR AND CHERRY PICKER COURSE COMBINED The IPAF Scissor Lift and Cherry Picker combination course covers both IPAF 3a and 3b categories in 1 day. Groups are limited to a maximum of 4 delegates.

MEWP FOR MANAGERS COURSE This 1 day course covers all the rules and regulations managers will need to be aware of for allowing the use of MEWPs on site. Topics include planning work and completing risk assessments, selecting appropriate equipment and mitigating all possible risks.

HARNESS USER AND INSPECTION This half day course enables the user to select, inspect and use harnesses and associated equipment safely when using a MEWP. It also identifies hazards of using a harness – when they are suitable for work, and when their use becomes dangerous.
